My name is Boyd and I’m looking for my fur-ever home. I was born approx. the Middle of November 2022. I’m very cute and very energetic. I would be good with folks who are able to give me a lot of attention as I love to play around but I’m happy to sit next to you while you watch tv too. I am good at playing by myself while I have a lot of energy, but I’d rather have someone join in on the fun. I would love a home with another playful young cat! I’m curious, playful, energetic, and sweet. I can’t wait to meet you 🙂
We also just found out that this sweet boy has Asthma. We are giving him a low dose of Steroids right now and it seems to help but he may down the road need an inhaler. We are hoping he won’t and we can maintain him without it … we are hoping someone out there will still want to give him a loving forever home !
UPDATE: he is off his medication for a few weeks now with no breathing issues !! So far so good !!
here is an update from his foster family
Boyd is very very friendly and gets comfortable with people fairly quickly! He is pretty high energy, and isn’t shy of asking to play. He can be quite vocal to get what he wants, and we are trying to train him out of it. That being said, if you ignore his demanding behaviour for attention, he calms down pretty quick. He loves people watching out the window, and in the morning I put in some cat tv for him which he loves. He loves “play fighting” but stops when you pull away and is fine to just play with a toy as well. He has been really good with sleeping throughout the night, as he adjusted well to our personal routine. He has his moments of clawing the furniture but he usually stops when we tell him too. He’s not a huge fan of the cat scratcher I bought for him but he uses a make shift play box I covered in burlap sac, which I’d be happy to gift to his new caregiver.
Overall Boyd is a very friendly, loving cat, and enjoy his fair amount of forehead kisses (he leans into them!) and really doesn’t mind being held. He’s curious about everything and is happy to follow his people around watching as they clean, or get ready in the morning. He also gives a lot of personal space and can do his own thing which is good. We have found that he likes to cuddle close to us in the evening, and although he is not necessarily a lap cat, he will curl up on the couch or bed with us as we relax.
I think Boyd would really value a pet companion of some kind! Because of his high energy he is always looking to play or even to just have something to entertain him. I’m not sure how he is with other animals but because he hasn’t shown any aggression to any new people or situations, I would imagine an introduction to other cats could be possible and beneficial for him!
