Thorne and Aspen

Aspen is in ADOPTED !!

Thorne is still looking for a forever home

Update on Thorne:

Hi, it’s me Thorne but my foster Mom calls me Joey.

I have been settling in well and now it’s my time to shine and find my forever home. A few of my favourite things are food, people and chewing on anything I can. My foster mom provides me with plenty of chew sticks and toys to keep me out of trouble. Playing tug is fun too, I’m a noisy player but love tug and chasing anything that moves. Crate training…..it’s a breeze! I do feel left out of the fun when I am in a crate and someone is still home. If I am left home alone in my crate  I go right to sleep. I travel in a crate in the car and we go to a lot of different fun places.

Once in awhile I have potty accidents in the house but most of the time my foster Mom brings me outside just in time and gives me yummy treats when I potty outside.

I’m learning that dogs are a lot of fun but also building my confidence in this big world on my own without the support of a furry friend. I will chase down any person who passes me without saying hello.

I am a very smart cookie and catch on to training quickly. I thrive with the mental stimulation of training.  However I do struggle with hands coming in to pick me up or put a harness on. It might look like I am being stubborn but it’s just a reflex I have with body pressure, so you will need to have patience and work on this with me. My foster mom can now put my collar on while I sit still and wait for my treat. Coming out of my crate needs to be on my own terms too or I will pull away and not want to come out. The more often I am given the time to come out on my own the quicker I start to come out.
